Would you like to buy a crocodile?
We already experienced many wild stories here on the beach of Costa Rica.
Some years ago Susan relaxed under a tree on the beach. On a branch a meter over her lay peacefully a Boa Constructa. Susan listened to the music of her Walkman and did not notice the snake.
As her boyfriend wanted to look after her about 2 hours later, he discovered the snake and said to Susan: ¨Sweetheart, I believe there is sitting a snake over you.¨
Susan shouted with fright and the snake disappeared.
But one of funniest stories was that a Tico of the village Esterones in Costa Rica came some years ago with a crocodile under his arm and asked me: ¨Would you like to buy a crocodile?¨ The crocodile was laying on a large board and was tied with a thick rope. I took the crocodile and called it Fritz. I gave the guy 5000 Colones, at that time about 10 dollars, dug a hole and put Fritz (about 1,5 meters long) in it. On the following days Fritz got fish. I tried to make my first walks with Fritz, which however was quite difficult, because he did not do what I told him to, and he could be very fast and unpleasant with his large tail.
One evening a few Ticos came to the bar of my
hotel Costa Rica, Paraiso del Cocodrilo and drunk a lot of alcohol. When they were finally very courageous, they tried to annoy the crocodile, which however ended up with the arm of a Tico in the muzzle of the crocodile. I had just arrived at the hotel and we managed it somehow that the crocodile opened its muzzle. The arm looked as if a sewing machine had gone over it. We took the Tico to the hospital where he got medicated. It got lucky. If an older crocodile had bitten in his arm the situation would have ended up differently.
